Employment law

Irrespective of the type of company you have formed you have legal obligations to the staff who are employed by the organisation. This includes requirements on holiday, redundancy, recruitment, contracts, wages, and statutory entitlement to sickness, maternity pay etc amongst other things. Further information can be found within the Staff section of this guide

Several organisations exist to help with employment law including ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) who aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. They provide up-to-date information, independent advice, high quality training and work with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance.
