Committee
If you are not going to be operating within the private sector it is likely that your provision will be managed by a committee. A committee is made up of members that are elected at an AGM (annual general meeting) and must include a chairperson, treasurer and secretary who will each hold certain responsibilities for managing the group. Members can be made up of the local community, parents of children attending the provision or other stakeholders. As a management committee you become the employers of any staff that work at the provision (paid staff can not be on the committee).
The committee does have certain responsibilities and liabilities.
